Working in domestic abuse
Are you thinking of pursuing a career in social care or, more specifically in the area of domestic abuse? It is important to have a good understanding of domestic abuse and be able to deliver an individualised, respectful way of supporting families who may be dealing with the long-term impact of a very bad experience.
You may find it useful to read the Social Work England professional standards for guidance on delivering support, employing a person-centred approach. Also, please take a look at our links for further reading.
We deliver training to groups and individuals who would like to learn more about working with victims or about domestic abuse generally.
